Abstract:
Note: As of version 1.7, a new type of texture called Full Bright has been added. A Full Bright texture is a lit texture, but it does not cast light. It gives the benefits of lighting without the performance hit. Whenever possible, you should use Full Bright textures instead of lights. To create a full bright texture, check the Full Bright option on the Texture tab when you are editing an object. You can set the entire object or individual faces to Full Bright.
If you still wish to create a light instead, do the following:
1) Right click on an object and select Edit
2) Click on the Object tab
3) Select Light from the Material drop down at the bottom of the tab.
4) Adjust the color on the Texture tab - lights look best with no texture on them (Texture–>Blank).
Note that any color but white will cast light of that color, discoloring objects around it. Use colored lights with care. If you want a light to be a certain color but not cast light in that color, create a solid texture of that color and put it on the light instead of tinting the object that color.
