Abstract:
You can chat on other channels for purposes of sending commands., but only objects listening on that particular channel will “hear” your chat, and only if they are set to listen to you. The format for sending a command on an alternate channel is:
/# command
where # is the channel # (1-65,535) and command is the text to send.
For example, to send the command ‘dance’ on channel 1, you would type:
/1 dance
As a shortcut, after you have sent a command on a channel, you can send text to the same channel without typing the channel number by typing:
// command
This will send the text in command to the previously used channel. For example, if you previously typed /1 dance, // dance would send the dance command on channel 1.

Abstract: No, this server is made available specificially for use by users of Second Life only - it is a service the site is providing to the SL community. Check with sites specifically geared toward Everquest 2 to see if they offer Teamspeak or Ventrillo services - many sites do. Also, many hosting companies offer server hosting quite cheaply (under $10/month), so hosting your own server for your guild may also be an option. I have included a link to the service provider I use….
Abstract: Currently, Second Life does not have the ability to import anything except textures, sounds, and BVH animation files. 3d models are not able to be imported from other programs - all building with prims is done with the tools within SL itself. There have been some user-created projects to develop ways to import objects. One such project is Jeffrey Gomez’s importer, which uses the free Blender tool along with a custom tool he has developed and some scripts within SL to be able to build items offline. For more information on that project, see the forum thread linked below….

A big thanks to Linden Labs for now featuring Secrets of Second Life on the SecondLife.com media page, very exciting and thanks for the support! And we’re in great company, with some fantastic podcasts (which you need to check out) Second Cast (my fav), Metaverse Sessions and The Goods.
