Gwyneth Llewelyn publishes many interesting ideas over her blog - this time she’s posted a summary of a conference about teaching practise in SL that she attended last week in her native Portugal.
Rather than steal her thunder, I’ll list the headline findings she gave, and point you to her blog for the full discussion:
- Don’t simply replicate Real Life, do things that SL will let you do and add value
- The informality of SL aids communication
- SL classes are much better than RL ones
- Text based interactions level the playing ground for all students to participate and provide better learning
I’ll nag Gwyn for references for these papers, which will be published here or on her blog all being well, but just her reporting from the conference will make interesting reading.
